Orlando, Florida

Sometimes going to “Orlando” people think it’s all about theme parks and excursions but this trip was about family, getting to meet new people, dancing, laughs, sleeping in, having ice cream for breakfast lol, and watching tv snuggled in bed with my daughter. It was just relaxing and fun!

We spent 4 nights at the beautiful Doubletree Hilton resort at Seaworld. While I was there for my Nationals dance convention (we won by the way….yay!!), this resort offered several amenities we were able to take advantage of.

The pool area (they have more than one) was chill and such a vibe with the DJ spinning the latest hits. Palm Trees and lush greenery set the backdrop for many family photos. The breakfast area at Laguna restaurant (your choice of outdoor or indoor seating) was relaxing and gave my family and I a chance to just talk and get ready for the day with their filling breakfast buffet that included plantains, hash browns, pastries, crepes and fresh fruit just to name a few items. The resort has several Villas and Towers you can choose for your stay and don’t worry if you get tired walking from one end of the resort to another because they have plenty of outdoor lounge areas to rest in. This resort had multiple conference rooms and convention areas and even had a gazebo for outdoor events. The game room and ice cream bar with homemade waffle cones made to order was such a treat (yes one day we had ice cream for breakfast lol).

Walking distance to the resort are several food places. We dined at Cheddar’s (think Applebees but for Florida) and of course Red Lobster. Everything was yummy and best of all, we enjoyed it with family. What a perfect way to spend our week!
